前回に代表戦に関するエントリーを書いたのはいつだったかな・・・と見返してみると、2006年6月24日のドイツワールドカップの予選を終えての感想でした。
かなりがっかりなご様子。
そりゃそうだ。あんだけコテンパンにやられたんだから。
あれ以来、代表の試合はテレビではすべて見ていますが、スタジアムに行っていません。
そのテレビ観戦も仕事をしながらとか、ひどいときはビデオ観戦とか、あまり熱が入ってないのが本音です。
なぜか？
海外組が召集されなくなったから？
否。友達に半ば強引にレッズサポにさせられてからJリーグの試合へ行く回数は激増してます。去年から今年にかけてのレッズのホームゲームはほとんど見に行ってるし、テレビでJリーグを見る回数も相当増えてます。大体、ヨーロッパに比べて程度の差やプレーの好みはあるけど、Jでもスーパーなプレーはいくらでも見れます。スコットランドリーグなんかよりはるかに面白い試合なんて毎週見れます。
試合が面白くないから？
否。選手は地味だけど、やってるサッカーはジーコ時代より更に面白いと思います。古くは「アイコンタクト」から「フラット3」、「自由なサッカー」、そして「考えて走るサッカー」とか相変わらずマスコミが好んで使うキーワードに踊らされなくても、ダイナミックなポジションチェンジ、ワンタッチプレー、スペースへのカバーリングなど、見ていてすごく面白い。
じゃあ、何なのか？
ひとつは単純に熱い試合がなかったから。
代表のセレクションみたいな位置づけのフレンドリーマッチに大枚払って見るのはどうなのかと。
勝って当たり前のアジアカップ予選に仕事を夜中に持ち越してまで見に行くのはどうなのかと。
もっと大きな理由は、たぶん日本中の多くの人が抱えてるワールドカップ燃え尽き症候群。
正直、予選突破厳しいかなという気持ちも抱えつつ、あそこまでコテンパンにされたら誰だって傷つきます。
平たく言えば現実逃避と人間不信ならぬ代表不信。
マスコミや監督がいくら甘い言葉を話しても、心のどっかで信じられない自分がいたわけです。
それが観戦モチベーションを下げていた気がします。
で、アジアカップ開幕。
これは非常に熱い大会です。
大会三連覇がかかっている以上に、優勝しないとコンフェデに出れない。アジアの端っこでヨーロッパや南米の強豪とガチの国際試合をやる機会が少ない・・・というか皆無の日本にとってコンフェデに出れないってのは非常に痛いです。
それに個人的にも過去の大会はどれも面白かった。
1992年の広島での初優勝。2000年の俊輔と名波の華麗な左サイド。2004年の奇跡的な優勝・・・とどれもテレビの前だけど狂喜しながら見ました。
で、本題の2007年の初戦。
率直な感想は「もったいない」と「またか」。
「もったいない」は、今まで引いた相手にゴール前で回すことはできても、そこまでだったのが、今日の試合は何度も崩せ「そう」なとこまでもっていけたところ。
ところが、パスミスやトラップミスやシュートじゃなくパスを選択してカットされたり、決定的なシーンも枠に打てなかったり「またか」というシーンが満載。
正直、あれだけ引かれたらヨーロッパの強豪だって苦労すると思います。でも、流れの中から一点取ることが出来た。
失点シーンもあれでファールを取られてフリーキックで決められたなんて事故みたいなもんだし。
ただ、まずかったのは一点取ったあとに相手が上がってきてくれたのに攻め切れなかったところ。
やってるサッカーは面白かった。
両サイドは全く機能しなかったけど、俊輔、遠藤の横のポジションチェンジに高原と憲剛の縦のポジションチェンジが絡んだダイレクトプレーなんかは見ていてワクワクしました。
いつもはあれだけ引かれたら、無得点を覚悟するところなんだけど、今回は何故か点が取れる気がしてました。
でも一点どまり。
とにかく内容は悪くなかった。
けど、終わってみればドロー。
「もったいない」と「またか」。
次は金曜日のUAE戦。
相手は初戦を落としてるので、猛烈に攻めてくると思います。
そこで今日のようなサッカーをして引き分ける(もしくは負ける)のか、今日のようなサッカーをして勝つのか。
この試合が日本国民が抱えているワールドカップ燃え尽き症候群が癒されるかどうかの瀬戸際な気がします。
って、長文になったけど、そんだけ代表応援してるってこった。
