実は父親が元新聞記者(確か祖父も)なのですが、僕自身の文才のなさには飽き飽きすることが多々あります。
小さい頃は国語や現国は得意だったし、作文も周りに比べると意外とイケてる方だったり、小学生のときは劇の台本を一人で書き上げてたりもしたのですが、いつの頃からか文章を書くことに非常にコンプレックスを覚えるようになりました。
原因はこの仕事に就いてから文章を書く機会が減ったからだと思います。文章も言語と同じで常に使っていないと能力が退化するんですね。当たり前といえば当たり前です。
そんな中、見つけたのがこの本です。
タイトルは何か怪しい感じがしますが、要は文章で生計を立てている人が書いた文章の書き方How To本です。
メールの書き方、エッセイと論文の言い回しの使い分け、企画書の書き方と多岐に渡って文章の書き方を体系立てて面白おかしく、端的に書かれています。
惜しいのは色々な文章を取り上げてダメな点を的確に指摘しているのですが、「このようにすればいい」という直接的な添削結果が少なかった点くらいです。
とはいえ、僕にとっては所詮文章といえばこのblogくらいなわけで、あまり気張って書くと続かない気がするので、頭の片隅に置く程度にしておこうと思います。
