ようやく体調も戻りつつあります。ここ数年おとなしかった扁桃腺だったのにここんとこ無茶なワークスタイルを取ったのがまずかったようですね。気をつけよっと。
で、ここぞとばかりにたまっていたTVの録画やサッカーの録画なんかを寝たきり状態で見ていました。そんな中、amazonから宇宙戦争が届いていたので見てみました。
内容はいわゆる宇宙からの侵略物です。基本的に映画にエンターテイメントを求める僕としては、大好物的内容なのですが、ちょっと期待はずれでした。
スピルバーグ監督、トム・クルーズ主演、ドリームワークス製作ってことでマイノリティ・レポートと同じコンビなわけですが、映像が全体的に暗く寝室で見るにはちょっとしんどい感じでした。
原作が1898年と100年以上も前ということを考えると、それはそれですごいのですが、さすがにちょっと陳腐化しすぎな感じです。テーマも家族愛を描きたかったのかもしれませんが、キャラクターがみんなドライすぎて感情移入できませんでした。パニック映画としても迫りくる恐怖といったものを感じる場面が少なかった印象です。インディペンデンス・デイのような「やばいやつらが来るよ。どうするよ。」ってなドキドキ感もなく、なんとなく現れてなんとなく殺される的な感じが残念でした。エンディングもあっけなく、残念だけど今年見た映画では最低かも。
とはいえ、最後まで見れたので星三つってとこで。
えー。映画館で見るとかなり傑作だったんですが・・・。
最後のシーンはかなり納得できなかったけど、音といい映像といいかなり恐怖感はあったような・・・。
昔原作をラジオで朗読したら、あまりにも本当に聞こえて町一つがパニックになって、避難したと本当にあった話だそうです。

う～ん。映画館で見ると迫力が違うのかもしれないので何とも言えないけど、恐怖感って映像・音響・ストーリーから成るのかなぁとか思ったりして、中でもストーリーに関しては恐怖感0だった印象があります。
ウェルズの原作でパニック騒動になったのは有名な話ですね。
