多分生まれて初めてスコットランドリーグの試合を観戦しました。今日は開幕第二戦でセルティックのホーム開幕戦、俊輔が先発で出るという試合をスカパーで生中継するってことなんで観戦してみました。
今年からイタリアの弱小チームレッジーナからスコットランドの名門セルティックに移籍した俊輔ですが、この一報を聞いたときは正直「え～・・・」ってのが感想でした。個人的なスコットランドリーグのイメージってロングフィード、アーリークロスをボンボン放り込んで中盤を飛ばして後はガタイ勝負ってな感じだったんですよ。
結論から言うと、一試合しか終わってないのに言うのは何ですがこの移籍は大正解かもです。
まず、僕が最初に抱いていたイメージはこの試合に関して言えば当てはまりませんでした。確かにセリエAに比べたらより大きくピッチを使うサッカーなんですけど極端にロングフィードが多いわけではなく、両チームともしっかりと中盤でつなぐサッカーをやってました。でもピッチを広く使うのでスペースが結構あるしディフェンダーもガツガツ当たってこないので俊輔も楽にこなせてたみたいです。
会場全体の雰囲気も去年のチャンピオンズリーグのバルセロナ戦などで知ってはいたのですが、お客さんの入りがすごく多いし、非常に礼儀正しく観てるわりに見せ場見せ場では観戦があがったりで選手としてはやってて気持ちがいいだろうなぁと思いました。
俊輔がボールをさばく度に拍手が起こったり、最初のコーナーキックを蹴るシーンや、後半ベンチに下がるシーンでもスタンディングオベーションで迎えられていたのでとても歓迎されているみたいで同じ日本人として嬉しく思ったりしました。シザーフェイントとかトリッキーなトラップとかする選手が珍しいのか、俊輔がやるたびにどよめきが起こってたのが面白かったです。
で、肝心の試合ですが、2－0で快勝とは言えないまでも順当に勝ってました。中でもFWハートソンのビエリ並な重戦車振り、ビーティーのボレーシュート、マロニーのテクニックは一流だと思いました。
そんな中、俊輔も試合全体で守備に気をとられる事なく攻撃中心にポジションを頻繁に変えながら本来の姿で楽しそうにプレーしてました。前半に2回ほど超決定機を演出したり、GKに弾かれたけど初めてのFKも素晴らしかったし、十分持ち味を出して貢献できてたと思います。
今後チーム内競争やチームが調子を落とした時に下がり目にポジションを要求されずに今の位置を維持できたらセルティックのアイドルになれるかもです。心配なのはチーム自体チャンピオンズリーグ予選で敗退したり、開幕戦を3－1からひっくり返されて最後に何とか4－4に持ち込むなど、守備面が脆い反面、前線は人が揃ってるのでそのときに下がり目のポジションをやらされると、ちょっとどうかな・・・と危惧してたりします。
とにかくチームでがんばって来年のチャンピオンズリーグで堂々と活躍して欲しいし、その勢いを日本代表にフィードバックしてワールドカップで活躍して欲しいです。
ちなみに、スコットランドリーグって12チームしかないんですね。何でも前半戦は同チームと三回当たって上位6チームと下位6チームに分けて後半戦を1回戦ずつ行う仕組みみたいです。知らなかったです。
