Uefa has announced clubs competing in the Champions League and Uefa Cup will have to include four homegrown players in their 25-man squad from 2006.
というわけで、ボスマン裁定以来ヨーロッパサッカー界ではUEFA加盟国内での外国人枠が撤廃されていたのですが、これがUEFAカップやチャンピオンズリーグにおいては変更されるかもしれません。
記事によると2006年から25人中4人はクラブで育てた選手でなければならなくなる予定だそうです。また、その数を2007年には6人、2008年には8人と増やしていく予定でもあるようです。
ちなみにクラブ出身選手の定義として、15歳から21歳の間に3年間同クラブに登録されているとしています。
Uefa defines a club-trained player as one who has been registered for a minimum of three seasons with the club between the age of 15 and 21.
UEFAのサイトでもニュースとして上げられているのでかなり本気の様子ですが、ビッグクラブの反応はどうなるんでしょうね。個人的にはアヤックスなどの凋落を見ていると8人は多すぎるにしても4人なら妥当な数だと思います。現在のサッカーマーケットは異常だしドメスティックな選手がいないクラブに愛着を持ち続けるのもどうかと思います。もちろんサポータは選手ではなくクラブに忠誠を誓っているんだろうけど、やはり生え抜きの選手がいてこそ応援も盛り上がるってもんだと思うんですがいかがでしょ？これでビッグクラブが生え抜きの選手をもうちょっと大事にしてくれたらと思います。ユーヴェ以外でプレイする、デル・ピエロや、ローマ以外でプレイするトッティや、マドリー以外でプレイするラウル(彼の場合は正確にはアトレティコ出身だけど)なんか見るのは忍びないですしね。
